That’s right! This drink is so easy to make because it only requires a few ingredients. I won’t make you wait any longer. Let’s get to making this festive drink. Shall we? The only ingredients that you are going to need to make this Hot Chocolate are 8 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chunks, 4 cups of milk, ⅓ cup of granulated sugar, and whipped cream for serving.

I am sure that you notice this recipe calls for semi-sweet chocolate chunks instead of cocoa powder. That is because this is Hot Chocolate and not hot cocoa. Typically Hot Chocolate uses melted chocolate as the chocolate component. Whereas, hot cocoa uses cocoa powder. That’s pretty easy to understand, right?

To make this easy and quick Hot Chocolate, first, in a saucepan over medium heat, melt and stir together the semi-sweet chocolate chunks, milk, and granulated sugar until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is hot. This should only take about 6 minutes. Next, remove the saucepan from the heat. Finally, serve the Hot Chocolate in mugs and top it with whipped cream if you so desire. See? It’s as easy as that! There is not much work for you to do here. Now, you can make this with your eyes closed. However, I don’t recommend you do that!

I do recommend, however, that you use your favorite chocolate brand because you certainly will be able to taste the chocolatey goodness with this recipe! This Hot Chocolate recipe makes enough to serve four people. However, please feel free to double or triple the recipe however you’d like to fit the quantities and serving sizes that you need.

Although this recipe is quick to make on a whim, if you do not want to always do that, then you can certainly make it and refrigerate it to heat up later. To make this recipe and save it for later, store the Hot Chocolate in an airtight container. When stored properly, this Hot Chocolate can last in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat it in the microwave or saucepan when you are ready!

This is a wonderful drink to enjoy during these chilly months. Whether you curl up with a good book or a program on TV, this drink is sure to bring you comfort! Enjoy making this Hot Chocolate and sharing it with your loved ones. Sip, sip, sip away!
