Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce

In true seasonal fashion, this applesauce recipe is made with cinnamon. You won’t want to forget this ingredient! The addition of cinnamon brings warm notes to the palate unlike anything else.

  • 4 pounds 4 Granny Smith apples, fully peeled, cored and sliced

  • 3/4 cups 3/4 water

  • 1/2 cup 1/2  brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon 1 cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon 1 lemon juice


  • Place sliced apples in a pot with water, brown sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to medium. Cover with a lid to cook for 20 minutes. 
  • After 20 minutes, turn off heat and remove the lid. Use a potato masher or blender to mash the apple mixture until you reach your desired texture.
  • Serve warm or cold. Enjoy! 


  • Adjust cinnamon to your taste buds.
