This Candied Sweet Potato recipe is easy to make and well worth the 50 minute cooking time. To make these Candied Sweet Potatoes, you will need two pounds of sweet potatoes that are washed, peeled, and sliced 1/2 inch thick. You will also need 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Go ahead and preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place the sliced sweet potatoes in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Set the dish aside so you can work on the sugar mixture.
To make the sugar mixture, melt together unsalted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Then, pour the sugar mixture over the sweet potatoes and toss them to coat evenly.
