Are you ready for a festive recipe? This one is just that! It’s that time of the year again where the sweet taste of peppermint lingers on your tastebuds and the smooth texture of melted chocolate warms your insides. ‘Tis the Season for Peppermint Bark! If you are in the mood for something minty and sweet, then now is the time to whip up this super yummy treat!
I got the idea to make Peppermint Bark this past week. I was decorating the Christmas tree with my family and put some mini candy canes on it as the finishing touch. When one fell off of the tree and broke, it reminded me of the oh so delicious Peppermint Bark that I made last holiday season. I just knew that I had to share this recipe with you. So, here it is!
This recipe is one of the easiest recipes to make. Do you want to know why? Well, it’s so easy because it only requires three ingredients. Yes, you read that right! Just THREE ingredients come together to form this yummy creation. So go ahead and break out your saucepan and let’s get to melting and mixing.
The ingredients that you will need to make this dessert are 10 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chunks, 14 ounces of chopped white chocolate, and ½ cup of crushed candy canes. Oh, and not to mention, only a few steps are required to make this peppermint bark. To get started on making this treat, first, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chunks in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Next, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the chocolate on top in a 9×13 inch rectangle. Refrigerate it for 10 to 15 minutes. Afterward, melt the white chocolate in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Spread white chocolate over the now firm semi-sweet chocolate. Top it with crushed candy canes. Refrigerate the bark for 15 to 20 minutes to allow it time to harden. Finally, break it into pieces. Then, serve it and enjoy!
Upon your first bite, your mouth will get the crunch of the peppermint along with the smooth and creamy taste of the combination of semi-sweet and white chocolate. Hopefully, you enjoy this recipe as much as my family and I do! It makes for a wonderful presentation on a holiday table or even a delicious, edible treat to make for gift-giving. If you are a fan of mint and chocolate together, then you will enjoy this recipe for sure. Happy Melting, Crushing and Eating, of course!
