Ingredients

  • 1 1 pineapple

  • 2 cups 2 chocolate (milk, dark, or semi sweet)

Directions

  • Line a plate or baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • Slice pineapple in sticks, chunks or rings. Pat dry.
  • Next, in a medium-sized saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate.
  • Dip pineapples one by one in the melted chocolate and lay flat on parchment paper.
  • Refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes, or until chocolate is fully hardened.
  • Serve on a platter and Enjoy!

This particular recipe calls for a nice and ripe pineapple. Trust me, you want your pineapple to be sweet because that will make this special treat taste even more delicious! Factors such as color, smell and size can help you when determining if a pineapple is ripe enough. You want to make sure your pineapple has a greenish-yellow color, its base has a sweet smell and it isn’t too light in weight (the heavier the pineapple, the juicier it tends to be).

For this recipe, I used semi-sweet chocolate, but feel free to use any kind you want. I know people who only eat dark chocolate and prefer that, and some enjoy white chocolate better than dark or milk. It is entirely up to you. Whatever suits your palate.

I melted my chocolate in a saucepan over low heat for about five minutes. Make sure to do low heat because chocolate melts and burns fast! If you choose to melt yours in the microwave you can do so for 30 seconds in intervals if needed.

You can also use canned fruit for this recipe. I personally enjoy using fresh fruit but again, it is up to you and it all depends on what you have available. If you do use canned fruit, just make sure to pat it dry before dipping.

And if you are the one in charge of making a fruit salad for a gathering at a friend’s house, why not make a chocolate-covered fruit salad? No dip is needed because well, it’s already been dipped! I hope you enjoy this chocolate-covered pineapple recipe as much as I do! Happy eating!
