The first time I made this for my family, they absolutely loved it! I wished that I had made a larger batch because they for sure were asking for more. I altered the recipe for you so that it makes enough for 8 servings. I won’t keep you waiting much longer. Let’s get started on making this dish, shall we?

As you can tell from the ingredients list, only a handful of ingredients are needed to make this dish taste delicious. To make this Creamy White Mushroom Sauce, the ingredients that you will need are 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 4 cups of sliced white mushrooms, ¾ cup of heavy cream, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, 2 tablespoons of garlic powder, and salt and black pepper, to taste.

To get started on making this Creamy White Mushroom Sauce, first, melt your unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Next, add your mushrooms and sauté them for 5 minutes. Then, stir in your heavy cream, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil. Then, reduce it to a simmer for 5 minutes to thicken. Remove the sauce from the heat. Serve it over your food of choice and enjoy!

As you can see, making this Creamy White Mushroom Sauce only should take about 10 minutes. Mushrooms contain a lot of moisture. Not many people realize that. So, the most important part when it comes to making this recipe is to make sure that the mushrooms release most of their moisture while they sauté.

Then, once the heavy cream is added to the mushrooms, it can easily become a thick sauce. Otherwise, it would be runny if there was too much water in the pan. If you have ever had cream of mushroom soup before, then you might just notice that this Creamy White Mushroom Sauce recipe tastes pretty similar. Can you guess why that is? Well, that is because this recipe uses a lot of the same ingredients, just in different quantities.

Hopefully, you enjoy making this Creamy White Mushroom Sauce and keep it in your recipe rotation. Enjoy saucin’ it up in your kitchen!
