Cilantro Lime Rice

If you have never made Cilantro Lime Rice, then you must make this recipe. It is so easy! Only a few ingredients are required to make this.  I am sure that you can pretty much guess what ingredients are required all based on the name of the dish. Of course, a few seasonings are also needed just to give it some extra flavor. So, go ahead and break out your ingredients and let’s get started on cooking and mixing everything.

Now, to easily make this recipe, the ingredient list calls for pre-cooked rice. You simply need to cook it according to its package instructions. Or, you can use takeout or leftover white rice that you have in your refrigerator. It is entirely up to you. I do however recommend that you stick to long-grain white rice.

  • Making this recipe is a great way to use leftover rice.

If you are boiling your rice, be sure to not let it get too soft or mushy. Cilantro Lime Rice is not good when it is sticky or too mushy. You want the rice you use to be more separated as opposed to sticky. That is why long-grain rice is your best bet when it comes to this recipe. Long grain white rice stays separate and fluffy when it’s cooked. Jasmine rice is a great option because it will stay fluffy.

The ingredients that you will need to make this recipe, you will need 2 cups of cooked long-grain white rice, 2 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter, 1 ½ cups of fresh chopped cilantro, 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice, ½  teaspoon of lime zest, and salt and pepper, to taste.

To make this Cilantro Lime Rice, mix the cooked rice with melted unsalted butter, lime juice, fresh chopped cilantro, lime zest, salt, and pepper. Finally, serve it hot or cold with your food of choice and other sides. Enjoy!

Also, please note that if you prefer to have your rice tasting more like lime, then add a teaspoon more of lime zest. The lime juice adds that tanginess, but the zest adds the flavor. It is also better to use fresh chopped cilantro as opposed to dried cilantro. You can certainly taste the difference in this recipe. So, adhere to that part of the recipe as much as you can!

I truly do hope that you enjoy making this Cilantro Lime Rice. Have fun eating and sharing it with your friends and family. Enjoy it with tacos, steak, chicken, or in a burrito bowl!
